Restomouv
A pioneer in home delivery
Before Uber Eats or Deliveroo entered the market, there was Restomouv! It might sound unbelievable, but it’s true, at least in one specific region: the Geneva area.
Initially, the company "Rest’O Chaud" offered a home meal delivery service via phone. It may seem strange today, but in the early 2010s, delivery apps were not yet widespread.
Customers had a brochure showcasing partner restaurants and their menus. They would place an order by calling a number, and Rest’O Chaud would handle everything: forwarding the order to the restaurant, picking it up, and delivering it.
This idea led to the creation of "Restomouv." The founder of Rest’O Chaud, Matthias Foucher, proposed to my brother Tanguy Bouchard and me to partner up and create a new company with a more modern approach: a website and a mobile application.
A tailored technical solution
The project is based on PHP, with a custom-built framework designed specifically for Restomouv. Once the technical aspects were stabilized, the ordering process optimized, and a solid customer base established, I started developing mobile applications for iOS and Android.
The hybrid applications were developed using Angular and the Ionic/Cordova framework.
Tools for restaurants and delivery personnel
We also designed dedicated applications for delivery personnel and restaurant owners. These tools allow them to:
- Manage their orders in real-time.
- Calculate order totals.
- Activate or deactivate products.
- Access detailed sales statistics.
Finally, the "Restomouv Manager" app greatly improved communication with delivery personnel, especially through PUSH notifications for order sending and confirmation.
