Lifestyle Fever
A progressive and sex-positive social platform
Lifestyle Fever is probably the most significant project I worked on in Taiwan. This platform, available as both a web version and a mobile application, is a social network focused on adult relationships, promoting a sex-positive and inclusive approach.
Features
Timeline
Share media (images, videos) and texts, either publicly or privately. Interact with posts through likes, comments, and shares.
Member Interaction
Add friends and use the 'follow' function to follow other users.
Profile Page
Complete customization: profile photo, biography, personal preferences, etc.
Messaging
- One-on-one chat with file sharing and read receipts.
- Group chat with the ability to create groups, invite members, and manage access.
Event-based Connections
A key feature of the application: users can create events where others can request to participate. Once approved, users are connected through the integrated messaging system.
My Role in the Project
When I took over this project, it already had an existing user database, but the technical structure needed a major overhaul.
The original site used an off-the-shelf PHP framework specialized for social networks. However, given the specific requirements, this framework couldn’t meet the needs.
Backend Overhaul
Created an API based on existing features to decouple the frontend from the backend.
Frontend Development
Implemented a new independent web platform in Angular, integrated with this API.
Mobile Application
Developed a React Native application utilizing the same API, ensuring consistency across platforms.
A Pivotal Turn: Transformation into Clubmella
The Lifestyle Fever project underwent several development phases, eventually pivoting strategically in 2023 to become Clubmella. This new version, more focused, emphasizes connections formed through events created by the company, "Clubmella."
Lifestyle Fever (and now Clubmella) represents a remarkable and stimulating experience, blending technical innovation and adaptation to the needs of a dynamic and unique community.
